Why I Became a Makeup Artist

People often ask me what inspired me to become a makeup artist. For me, it wasn’t about chasing trends or following fame. It was about falling in love with beauty—the kind that makes people feel confident, radiant, and seen.

My journey started back in high school. I discovered cosmetology through an elective program and instantly felt at home. While some students were counting down the minutes until the final bell, I was losing track of time learning how to shape brows, blend eyeshadow, and study skin types. There was something about the creativity, the detail, and the transformation that completely captivated me.

But what really sealed the deal wasn’t just how makeup looked—it was how it made people feel.

I still remember one of the first times I did someone else's makeup and saw their reaction in the mirror. It wasn’t about looking different, it was about lighting up with confidence. That moment stuck with me. I realized this was more than a skill. It was a way to connect with people, to help them feel beautiful in their own skin.

Over time, that passion grew. I practiced, trained, worked with all kinds of clients, and kept coming back to the same feeling. I love helping people celebrate themselves. Whether it’s a bride on her wedding day, someone prepping for a milestone photoshoot, or a client who just wants to treat herself, it’s always an honor to be part of those special moments.

Makeup is more than artistry to me—it’s empowerment. And that’s why I do what I do.
